During the "Naruto: What's Next?" panel at New York Comic Con 2026, the new anime crossover "Naruto x Ninkuu" was officially announced. The series, consisting of four episodes, merges Masashi Kishimoto's universe with that of Kouji Kiriyama, the author of Ninkuu, a work that profoundly influenced the creation of Naruto. The project was initially scheduled for 2023 to coincide with the anime's 20th anniversary but was postponed to improve production quality.
The teaser revealed to the public shows Team 7, with Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura under Kakashi's guidance, getting lost in another world during a mission. Here, they meet Fūsuke, the protagonist of Ninkuu, who is described as a secret mentor to Naruto. Kishimoto explained that the idea stems from the desire to bring to light the master-student relationship between the two characters, under the direct supervision of both authors.
In addition to the crossover, the event confirmed the global launch of "Naruto Mobile" and gave a glimpse of a new Naruto manga signed by Kishimoto, the details of which will be revealed at Jump Festa 2027. The franchise thus continues to expand with new multimedia initiatives.
