The official website for the anime "The Moon on a Rainy Night" (Amayo no Tsuki) has released the first full promotional video, revealing the names of the main voice actors and further details about the production staff. The series, based on Kuzushiro's manga, is directed by Tomoe Makino at CompTown studio and will feature Iori Saeki and Sora Amamiya in key roles.
The video introduces the plot centered on Saki Kindaichi, a student who, after a chance encounter on a rainy night, finds herself attending the same school as Kanon Oikawa. Kanon, a girl with an elegant appearance but a cold personality, is nearly deaf and needs to be in close proximity to read lips. The story explores how Saki's kind gestures begin to melt the emotional defenses of her deskmate.
Among the other announced staff members are Shōgo Yasukawa for the screenplay and Ayumi Nishibata for character design. The soundtrack will be composed by jizue, while Masao Yamamura, president of CompTown, will serve as animation producer. The television adaptation is scheduled to debut in 2027, with the manga license already available in English through Kodansha USA.
