On October 5, the first episode of PSYREN, the long-awaited anime adaptation of Toshiaki Iwashiro's manga, will air on TOKYO MX and other Japanese broadcasters. The series, which follows the adventures of Ageha Yoshina in the mysterious world of psychic battles, marks the return of a title that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump between 2008 and 2010.
To celebrate the broadcast's launch, several commemorative illustrations created by five prominent creators from the Jump world have been revealed. Among the contributors are Yuki Tabata, known for Black Clover, Ryuhei Tamura of Beelzebub, and Naoya Matsumoto, the creator of Kaiju No. 8. Each artist has interpreted the series' characters in their own distinctive style.
The story centers on a high school student who, after the disappearance of his childhood friend Sakurako, comes into contact with the Psyren Secret Society. From there, a life-or-death game begins, promising to be an engaging experience for fans of the suspense and action genres.
