On October 3, the animated series of Even the Student Council Has Its Holes (Seitokai ni mo Ana wa Aru!), based on Muchimaro's four-panel manga, premieres on OceanVeil. The Aniplex of America platform hosts the simulcast streaming with English subtitles, while in Japan, the TV broadcast airs on Tokyo MX and other broadcasters.
The original work, which debuted in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2022, has sold over 2.7 million copies and won the Next Manga Awards in 2023. The story follows Mizunoe Ume, who joins the student council to avoid repeating her year, only to find herself in a room full of quirky and slightly mischievous characters.
Production is handled by studio Passione, with Naoyuki Tatsuwa serving as director. For the North American market, OceanVeil offers the subtitled version, while in Japan, both the TV version and the "uncut" version are available, highlighting the series' ecchi tone.
