The sex tech market is moving toward the integration of hardware and artificial intelligence. Devin, a US-based startup founded in December 2025, has opened pre-orders for a dual-stimulation vibrator (clitoral and G-spot) priced at $249. The device, made of medical-grade silicone, features built-in sensors that read the user’s arousal to adapt in real time both the intensity of the vibrations and the AI-generated audio narration.
The business model flips the traditional logic: instead of the toy following the content, here the body guides the story. The company, which raised $1.5 million in a pre-seed round, aims to turn the device into a gateway to a subscription service. Pre-orders are free of charge today, with billing only upon delivery, estimated for 2027. The app will offer personalized narrative scenarios, such as “billionaire boss” or “from enemies to lovers,” with male and female voices.
Founder and CEO Morgan Hewett stated that the company is targeting a female audience willing to spend over $150 on average on a vibrator, integrating “romance tech” with the profitability of the toy industry. The company also acquired Piffle, an AI storytelling startup, and sold out the first batch of 1,000 prototypes. Privacy remains a critical issue: sensitive arousal data will initially be stored on the phone and the device to reduce hacking risks, but the data policy is not yet finalized.
