The anime film adaptation of Type-Moon's visual novel, *Witch on the Holy Night*, has just released its final trailer. The clip, available since September 30, not only teases key scenes from the film but also confirms the inclusion of the theme song, *Yoru to Ao* (Night and Blue), performed by the supercell music group. The video also features a new visual by Hirokazu Koyama and reveals the names of the production team.
Based on Kinoko Nasu's original work, the film will bring to the screen the story of Aoko Aozaki, heir to a family of mages, and her apprenticeship under the witch Alice Kuonji. The feature will open in Japanese theaters on November 20, the same day the smartphone version of the original game will be released. For North American audiences, distribution is handled by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment, with a release date scheduled for January 29, 2027. The film will be screened in Japanese with English subtitles and will also be available with an English dub.
This work fits into the so-called "Nasuverse," the shared universe of Type-Moon's creations, connecting to titles such as *Tsukihime* and *The Garden of Sinners*. The project celebrates one of the early collaborations between Nasu and artist Takashi Takeuchi, transforming an unpublished 1990s novel into a commercial success: the PS4 and Switch versions of the original game have already sold over 150,000 copies worldwide.
