The world of Japanese animation has enthusiastically welcomed the official announcement for the series "Majo to Youhei" (The Witch and the Mercenary). Long-awaited by fans of the high fantasy genre, the project recently released its first promotional video and a second teaser visual, offering a detailed glimpse into the artistic styles and the dynamics between the protagonists.
The story follows the adventures of Zig, a lone mercenary, and Shearsa, a witch feared and hated by society. After a decisive encounter, the two decide to embark on a journey together to an unknown land, in search of a place where they can live in peace. The creative collaboration features direction by Shinpei Ezaki and screenwriting by Shirota Yagura, with production handled by the studio Eight Bit.
Among the most significant news, new names in the voice cast have been confirmed: Haruka Shiraishi, Yuri Noguchi, and Daimu Mineta will voice Elcia, Isana, and Alan, respectively. The series is aimed at an adult audience passionate about fantasy adventures, with a scheduled broadcast for April 2027 on Japanese national networks.
