1 Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution Action RPG - Idea Factory, Compile Heart - Idea Factory International - 08/26/2025 - 16+ Neptune becomes the CEO of a defunct game studio and must revive it by creating games and facing industry rivals, exploring dungeons by motorcycle and fighting in party-based battles. A meta JRPG that pokes fun at the entire games industry. Neptunia Game Maker R:Evolution finally hit Steam on August 26, 2025, a year after its console debut, and the timing made it one of the most visible fanservice releases on PC this year. Idea Factory and Compile Heart cast series mascot Neptune as the CEO of a collapsed game studio she must rebuild from scratch, developing in-universe games, fending off rival publishers and leading a four-character party through motorcycle-traversed dungeons. The formula blends action RPG combat, light management sim mechanics and knowing satire of the gaming industry itself, wrapped in the chained-attack battle system the series has refined over a decade. What keeps the game squarely in ecchi territory rather than plain anime aesthetics is how consistently it leans on its cast's design, skimpy costumes, bikinis, exaggerated poses and flirty banter run through nearly every scene, continuing a franchise tradition of personifying game consoles as scantily-dressed goddesses for comic and visual effect. Nothing crosses into explicit territory, the ESRB's Teen rating with Suggestive Themes reflects that restraint, but the fanservice is clearly intentional and central to the game's identity rather than incidental decoration. Critics gave it a more measured Mostly Positive reception, praising the witty meta-humor and character writing while flagging uneven pacing in the studio-management loop. For longtime fans it remains essential, and its delayed PC arrival made 2025 the year this specific slice of ecchi charm finally reached a much wider Steam audience. see full review

2 Merry Bunny Garden Adventure/Action - qureate - qureate - 10/08/2025 - 18+ A spin-off of the hit Bunny Garden, it casts the player as the one tasked with walking the bar's bunny-girl hostesses safely home after a night of heavy drinking, navigating hazardous streets and playful bedtime rituals. Released October 8, 2025 on Steam and Nintendo Switch, Merry Bunny Garden is the action spin-off from Japanese studio qureate, riding the wave of goodwill built by the original Bunny Garden, a Very Positive rated dating sim that became a genuine hit in Japan. The formula shifts here, instead of bar-counter conversations players get a comedic walking-escort game, guiding bunny-girl hostesses Hana, Rin and Miyuka home after they have had far too much to drink, dodging obstacles and nighttime hazards through the city streets. Once home, the game moves into a series of lighthearted bedtime mini-games, stretching routines, skincare, a relaxing bath, all delivered with qureate's trademark exaggerated, self-aware humor. This is where the game commits fully to its ecchi label, skimpy outfits, embarrassing mishaps and constant innuendo carry nearly every scene, all inside an 18+ rating the developers themselves describe as non-explicit, with the Steam version notably less censored than the Nintendo Switch release due to platform policy. Outlets like Automaton West covered it as a risque bunny girl game precisely because of this calculated balance between broad comedy, unmistakable fanservice and the total absence of pornographic content. The result is a small genre experiment that lands as goofy before it lands as provocative, and it cements qureate's place as one of the most consistent, recognizable studios working the independent ecchi lane in Japan through 2025. see full review

3 Magical Nut Ikuno Action/Platformer - qureate, Orgesta Inc. - Shochiku, qureate - 05/22/2025 - 18+ Magical girls Ikuno Hinata and Anami Tsukine must gather crystals scattered across each stage and defeat the hamster empress Hamester, dodging traps and enemies through fast-paced arcade-style levels. Released May 22, 2025 by qureate alongside Orgesta Inc., Magical Nut Ikuno is a small arcade action-platformer that earned a cult following in ecchi circles largely because of one design idea as simple as it is unabashedly cheeky. Its core loop, collecting scattered Crysnuts across each stage while dodging enemies and traps and working toward a showdown with the hamster empress Hamester, plays like a clear homage to Pac-Man, enough that parts of the specialist press nicknamed it the Ecchi Pac-Man. The fanservice angle is unmistakable in how leads Ikuno Hinata and Anami Tsukine are animated, with skimpy outfits that come undone mid-action, and especially in the Light Curtain toggle, an optional beam of light players can switch on or off to cover, or reveal, the characters' more sensitive areas, turning a classic piece of Japanese ecchi iconography into an actual interactive mechanic rather than passive censorship. The developers have stated every character involved is over eighteen and that the game contains no R18 material, keeping the tone playful rather than explicit throughout. It remains a niche release with a modest following compared to bigger franchises, but its knack for turning an ecchi cliche into genuine, functioning gameplay makes it a small but telling case study for anyone tracking where Japan's independent ecchi scene was heading in 2025. see full review
