Nekopara After: La Vraie Famille is the latest chapter in the beloved catgirl visual novel series created by Sayori, landing on Steam on June 30, 2025 after a long wait and a few delays tied to platform approval times. Unlike the previous numbered entries, After is a standalone title introducing Fraise, a new catgirl from the family bakery's French branch, forcing protagonist Kashou and his six feline companions to make room for a new family member. The writing stays true to the series' spirit, balancing slice-of-life comedy, cozy domestic moments and a distinctly ecchi aesthetic built on cat ears, tails and playful innuendo, all rendered in the franchise's unmistakable pastel art style.

It's worth stressing that the Steam release is the all-ages version, free of sexually explicit content, while fans seeking the full 18+ cut need to go through partner storefront Denpasoft, a split that makes Nekopara a textbook example of a franchise living a double life, mainstream ecchi on one side and hentai for a dedicated audience on the other. For anyone after light fanservice, romance and comedy, the Steam version of Nekopara After remains perfectly enjoyable and stands as one of 2025's most anticipated returns for genre fans. Longtime followers of the series will also appreciate how the new patisserie setting lets the familiar cast interact with fresh faces without losing the cozy, family-like warmth that made the original quartet of games so endearing in the first place.
