Written and drawn by Kouji Seo, already known for Suzuka and Fuuka, The Cafe Terrace and Its Goddesses ended its regular run in Weekly Shonen Magazine in November 2025 after twenty two volumes, but early 2026 turned out to be its most talked about stretch yet: volume 22, the last of the regular run, hit shelves on January 16, 2026, and Seo confirmed the story would continue through irregular serialization starting that January, alongside the launch of a new parallel series from the same author. Seo's art style, known for near photographic use of light and meticulously proportioned figures, made the series one of the most fan service forward titles in Kodansha's catalog without ever crossing into the explicit, leaning instead on swimsuit episodes, cohabitation mishaps, and classic harem embarrassment. Western outlets, including Anime News Network, tracked every announcement about the series ending and then continuing, a sign of interest well beyond its home market.

In the US, Kodansha USA publishes the volumes regularly in digital format, while no official Italian edition currently exists. The fact that the author chose not to fully abandon this world, continuing to publish extra chapters into 2026 alongside a brand new series, shows just how attached both Seo and his readers remain to a harem book with a warmer heart than scandal, earning it a place among this year's best ecchi titles.
