Makina-san's a Love Bot?!

Based on Yoshimi Sato's manga, first serialized in Futabasha's Monthly Action before moving to the Web Comic Action platform, this Studio BloomZ adaptation, directed by Masayoshi Nishita, builds its sci-fi comedy around an ecchi premise stated openly from the outset. Eita Akutsu, a socially awkward robotics enthusiast, repairs an injured android, Makina Agatsuma, only to discover she was engineered to seduce men and extract information from them, a function that keeps malfunctioning. From that point on Makina moves into his apartment, determined to win him over with increasingly bold seduction attempts, while he, more interested in her mechanical design than her advances, offers a flustered resistance that fuels much of the show's comedy.

It is exactly this short circuit, a robot built for fanservice who executes it clumsily, that keeps the ecchi element organic to the story rather than mere decoration. Carrying an R+ mild-nudity rating consistent with Japanese broadcast standards that required some scenes to be censored, the series stays light and never gratuitous, balancing romantic-comedy gags with a gentle satire of technology and desire. Makina's character design, carefully rendered in both comedic and more suggestive beats, sustains visual interest across twelve episodes that grow more assured as the central pairing's chemistry develops.

Without the reach of the season's flagship productions, the title still drew trade-press attention precisely for its unapologetically fanservice-driven identity, earning it a spot on this list as one of 2025's most recognizable and genuinely ecchi entries.
