The renowned virtual entertainment platform Hololive has officially announced the development of its first television anime. The animation production is entrusted to Studio KAI, known for its work on Sentenced to Be a Hero. According to the company, the project has been in development for about five years, marking a significant step for the franchise that launched its first video game earlier this year.
For now, the title and plot remain shrouded in mystery. The project is teased under the abbreviation "OdeHolo," inviting fans to speculate on the meaning of the name. Many of the scenes shown in preview were already present in the Hololive Alternative videos released between 2021 and 2022. An official X account dedicated to the anime has also been opened under the name @odeholo.
A special news program is scheduled for September 23, during which further details about the series will be revealed. Nene Momosuzu, Polka Omaru, Lamy Yukihana, and Botan Shishiro will participate in the event, with Fubuki Shirakami and Mio Ookami serving as hosts. Coinciding with the announcement, the debut of a new unit called "ASOBI★Mawaritai!" was also revealed, the first in about two years.
